October Favorites! & This Year’s Halloween Costumes

Hello all!

First, let me apologize that it has been MONTHS since my last blog post! I have been much better at keeping up with my Youtube channel and my beauty Instagram, so please follow me there for more up to date posts! 🙂 (Links are to your right!)

But, let’s get started with my FAVORITES for my FAVORITE month of the year! My Youtube video should be going up at the same time as this post, so feel free to check that out too!

There are TWO favorites that I forgot to mention this month, so I am going to mention them here! Again, check out my Monthly Favorites Video for the rest of this month’s faves!

The first is a recipe that I found for a Low Carb Homemade Pumpkin Spice Latte! (Tis the season!) Below is the gist, as I have edited it from the original version I found!

Low Carb Pumpkin Spice Latte:

  • 3/4 cup Unsweetened Almond Milk
  • 1/4 cup Heavy Whipping Cream
  • 2 heaping tablespoons (or more to taste) Pure Pumpkin Puree (NOT PUMPKIN PIE FILLING)
  • Dash (or 5) Pumpkin Spice
  • 1 tsp Low Carb Liquid Truvia Honey Sweetener
  • t tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1 cup Strongly Brewed Coffee
  • Whipped Cream
  • Ground Nutmeg For Garnish

Simmer the almond milk, heavy cream, pumpkin puree, pumpkin pie spice, low carb sweetener and vanilla extract in a pan over medium heat. While it is simmering, stir occasionally, and brew a strong cup of coffee. Once both are ready (it doesn’t take long), pour both into a blender and blend for 10 seconds and please, be sure to KEEP THE LID AJAR! Cover with a kitchen towel, but we do NOT want your blender exploding with hot liquids! 🙂 When it is blended, I add a dollop of real whipped cream and sprinkle with nutmeg. This is a delicious way to get your Pumpkin Spice fix without all those carbs! 🙂

Now, back to beauty favorites!! 🙂

The other favorite that I forgot to mention was a Solid Brush Cleaner from the brand Japonesque!

Although it says “Unscented” this cleanser smells wonderful! And it hasn’t been bothersome to my sensitive skin either! I use this in conjunction with my silicone pot holder to clean my brushes, and have really been loving it!

Be sure to check out my video for the rest of my Beauty Favorites from this month! 🙂

This year’s Halloween Costumes (yes there were two), were so much fun to put together! One of which, is probably my all time favorite Halloween Costume that I’ve ever done!

Harley Quinn & The Joker ♥

– This is my FAVORITE! My boyfriend and I went as Harley Quinn and The Joker from this year’s Suicide Squad! The baseball bat was probably my favorite part of this costume, besides the awesome jacket and wig! The baseball bat we painted and made from a regular wooden bat, and was the perfect final touch that brought my costume together! Along with some awesome makeup!

Sugar Skull – Day of the Dead ♥

– This year we were invited to quite a few Halloween Parties, one of which was Day of the Dead themed, and as such, we went all out and did some awesome Sugar Skull makeup! It’s handy having a boyfriend who is trained in theater makeup 🙂

So that is it! Some of this month’s favorites, as well as a brief description and some pics of this year’s Halloween Costumes! Hope you guys enjoyed, and don’t forget to check out my video for the rest of this month’s faves! ♥

Influenster Vox Box – Ole Henriksen

Hello everyone, and welcome back!

I cannot believe it has been three months since my last post… you can say I have had one busy summer! But as we are winding down, I figured it was about time to update you on my most recent Influenster Vox Box and the products that came with them! On my page is a video of my unboxing as well!

So, the brand: Ole Henriksen

The products (in order of using them in a routine):

POWER Bright – Skin brightening three step system (Retail $55 – 6 treatments)

Truth Serum – Vitamin C Serum (Retail $48 – 1 oz)

Sheer Transformation – Moisturizer (Retail $38 – 1.7 oz)

My favorite products of the three above would be the moisturizer and the serum. The brightening three step system unfortunately broke me out after first use, but my skin was definitely glowy and bright after!

The serum smells of citrus candy, and is a gel formulation. I wish it was a bit creamier, as I feel it would be more hydrating. But my skin loves the stuff!!!

The moisturizer is WONDERFUL! However I wish it came in a squeeze tube and not a pot that you have to dig your fingers into… It is not too heavy whatsoever, and blends  beautifully into your skin without leaving a greasy feel. Love, love, love this moisturizer.

The POWER bright three step system is great if you have the time to pamper yourself one evening. I am not sure how often you are to use the three step system, but it takes about a half an hour once you have let the products sit on your skin the recommended amount of time. The steps seem out of order, upon first glance, as you are told to use the polishing mask, and then rinse it off, and then to apply the serum, and THEN the cleanser. Which seemed strange to me. In the end it made my skin feel very smooth, and looked very bright and glowy, however, I don’t know that I still noticed those results the next morning. I also noticed that this system did break me out, and my guess is that it was from the polishing mask, as my skin doesn’t fair too well with physical exfoliants. The break outs did not last very long, so overall, it wasn’t a deal breaker. I will say that the individual packs do give you enough for two uses though! Which is great, because the system is quite expensive. ^ treatments for $55! But if you split them, you can probably get at least 10-12 uses out of the product.

Overall, I LOVED receiving these products free for testing and reviewing purposes, and would probably purchase one or more of these products in the future. (Just probably not the POWER bright system).

Any questions, please let me know down below! 🙂 Thanks for reading!

Cutex Advanced Revival Nail Polish Remover Pads 💅🏻👌🏻

Hello everyone!

Welcome back to my blog 😊

Today’s post is gonna be short and sweet, but I wanted to share with you all a new product that I have been testing out, that was sent to me by Influenster for testing and review purposes!

The Cutex Advanced Revival Nail Polish Remover Pads!

I am a huge nail polish wearer, and when one nail chips, it annoys me so much that I need to remove them all and start over again! That ending said, there’s often tons of polish left on my nails, and I need something tough enough to remove it. Especially when I use glitter on an accent nail!

This products claims to remove polish from all 10 nails, and I had my doubts. But oh man! These little guys worked great! I will say they dry out quite quickly, but I was still able to remove all of the dark navy nail polish without any trace of color left behind with just one pad!

I love that they are individually packaged, as it will be super handy for vacation. I also really enjoy that the pad is not a flimsy, little piece of thin paper. It’s a thicker cotton pad that really works at getting polish off your nails!

I will definitely be purchasing these in the future, and want to thank Cutex and Influenster for sending them to me for free to test them out!

Any questions, please feel free to ask! Thanks for reading ❤️

April Ipsy Unbagging 2016

Hello everyone! Welcome back to my blog 🙂

Today’s post is going to be my April 2016 Ipsy Unbagging!

I filmed a video for my YouTube Channel that will be up soon as well, so be sure to check that out to see the goodies I redeemed my points for this month too!

But let’s go ahead and get started!

This month’s theme was “Dreamers” and came with a tie dye type of patterned bag. The bag was not my favorite, and will honestly probably be given away, but the products inside look VERY promising!

The first product I saw was the Trust Fund Beauty That Go Tho highlighter stick. I am not positive of the shade name, as it was nowhere to be found, but when swatched, it was BEAUTIFUL! I originally thought that it was more of a bronze glow type of product, but when swatched, it was much more Peachy in tone. It might be too dark for my skin tone, but I can definitely use it as an eye base if nothing else. Hopefully this summer I will be able to pull it off! (Swatch of this and the other makeup product down below!)

The second product I pulled out was the Jor’el Parker Fango Mud Therapy mask. This product I am VERY excited to try. I am already planning a Sunday night skincare/pamper night this weekend as I have had a crazy busy week and have to be up bright and early Saturday morning for a work event as well :/. This product was still sealed, but claims to include Sweet Almond Oil, Avocado Oil, Green Tea Antioxidants and Volcanic Ash minerals, so hopefully it will be helpful in removing impurities in my skin!

The next product is one I was not really all that thrilled about receiving, but it is the Moroccanoil hair treatment. It smelled nice, but I have not tried it yet, and honestly, don’t know that I will. If I do, it will be mixed in with a hair smoothing cream or something that I already know I love to give it a little extra something.

The next product I got this month is a deluxe sized sample of the Tarte Lip Surgence Lip Creme in the shade ‘Wonder’. This is a true ‘Spring’ shade, and hopefully I will be able to pull it off 🙂 The formula seemed really nice when I swatched it on my hand, and since my boss did not like the color for herself, I actually got hers as well! (She also gave me her two Pur-Lisse sheet  masks that she got this month as well!)

Trustfund Beauty – That Glo Tho highlight (left)

Tarte Lip Surgence Lip Creme – Wonder (right)

Finally, the last item that I got in my Ipsy bag this month was the Crown Duo Fiber Small Tapered Brush. This brush is crazy soft, though the shape and density of this brush leaves me wondering what I will use it for. Perhaps for a light highlight or blush application, but either way, it is definitely a great quality brush!

So those were the things that came in my Ipsy Glam Bag this month, and don’t forget to check out my video to see the extra goodies I picked up when I redeemed some of my points!

Let me know if you have any questions on any of the products I mentioned, or would like a review on any of them as well!

Thanks so much for reading, and I hope you all have a WONDERFUL weekend 🙂

March Beauty Favorites 2016!

Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog!

Heading into the first full week of April 2016, and as such, it’s Monthly Favorites time!

My March Favorites video is already up on my YouTube channel (https://youtu.be/b9vr0AA7DWc) and was actually a collaboration video with the lovely beckyybertram (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCRFXu6XoA7XDosTqupbMTQQ)

In case you missed it, here’s a run down of the goodness that came out of March 2016!

Let’s start off with Skin Care:

Jergins Wet Skin Moisturizer – Monoi Oil Scent – This has been a savior for coming out of those dry winter months, and making sure my skin is properly moisturized! I’ve tried one other “in shower” moisturizer, however it was one that you used after cleansing your skin, and rinsed off. This Jergins version is awesome in that you hop out of the shower, and apply it to wet skin, and then pat dry with a towel! That’s it! And your skin is perfectly hydrated all day long. It’s just wonderful.

Next in skin care, two awesome products from the same line!

Nip + Fab Glycolic Mask – This product, in conjuction with the next product, have been helping with clearing up my skin, evening out the texture of it, and making it smooth and soft too. So, it’s basically a miracle in a bottle 🙂 Not really, but this stuff is great! I can only use this once a week as my skin is a tad sensitive to it, but if I put it on for 10 minutes, rinse it off, and follow up with my normal skin care routine, it works wonders. I usually use this once a week, usually on a Sunday night, when I have the time to prep my skin for the upcoming week ahead!

Nip + Fab Glycolic Serum – This serum has become a crucial product in my night time skincare routine! However, I only use it at night. It goes on and remains a bit tacky, so I don’t think it would be the best for under makeup application. However, this along with the above mentioned mask, have really helped my skin clear up, improve the texture, and have really just been awesome :)!

Now for makeup 🙂

Wet N Wild Single Shadow – Creme Brulee – This shadow has been awesome in helping me look more awake when I really just am not (along with a favorite mascara for the month)! But it really evens out the tone of my eyelid, I apply it from lash line to brow bone, and it’s the perfect “wide awake” lid color. I wear it alone, or with a light matte brown shade in the crease for a simple makeup look!

Colourpop Super Shock Shadow – LaLa – This shade is BEAUTIFUL! I originally intended to purchase the new Kathleen Lights shade Weenie, but it was out of stock, so I went with this Rose Gold shade instead. And I am SO glad I did! It’s the perfect mixture of rose, gold, and copper, it insanely pigmented, and I’ve been loving it on the lids!

Colourpop Super Shock Cheek Color – Between the Sheets – This blush is the perfect, natural cheek color shade, and has a delicate pigmentation that makes applying it with a stippling brush the perfect method. I love, love, love this shade. It’s even making me fall in love with Blush 🙂

Colourpop Matte X Lippie Stix – Poppin’ – This formula of lippie is amazing. Unfortunately, I don’t think this is a shade or formula that you can buy, as mine was a free gift with purchase. However, I REALLY hope they come out with a whole line of colors in this formula. The color is a bright, springy raspberry shade, and will be perfect for this time of year! It’s super lightweight, and comfortable to wear, but it not kiss proof, so you have been warned 😉

Swatches from left to right:

Colourpop – Poppin

Colourpop – LaLa

Colourpop – Between the Sheets

Too Faced Peanut Butter and Jelly Eyeshadow Palette –  This is a recent purchase of mine, but it had to be mentioned in my March Favorites! I love this palette. The colors are warm, easily blendable, and unique. The theme is adorable, the shadows really smell like chocolate with a kiss of peanut butter, and I really can NOT say enough good things about this palette. See my previous post for more info and swatches!

Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara – This mascara is a wonderful mix of volume and definition, the color is a lovely, dark black, and the brush is the perfect size. I have three deluxe sample sizes of this mascara, and when I run out, I will DEFINITELY be purchasing a full size 🙂

Benefit Roller Lash Mascara – This mascara is the PERFECT mascara for those days when your eyes really need the lift, and to be more open. It really does curl your lashes, as it claims to do, and it’s just a really, really great mascara 🙂

These have been favorites that I LOVED in the month of March, and I hope you have enjoyed reading about them! Please let me know if you have any questions, and thanks so much for reading!

Too Faced Peanut Butter & Jelly Palette 😍 (First impressions and swatches)

Welcome back to my blog!

Today’s post is something I’m so insanely excited to share with you all! My first impressions and swatches of the new Too Faced PB & J eyeshadow palette! (Video is also up this morning as well ❤️)

First off, we all know how awesome Too Faced palettes are, whether it be the Chocolate Bar series, or the 9 pan metal tins. This palette is NO exception! One or two shades were a bit blotchy in pigmentation when first swatched (the darker shade Jammin’ mostly), but when I used it this morning in the outer ‘V’ it was perfectly fine! Blendable, pigmented, and just awesome!

The scent of the palette is VERY similar to the Chocolate Bar series, but with a kiss of peanut butter, it’s crazy! The packaging states that there are absolutely no Peanuts in the product, so it is safe for those who are allergic. (Very considerate of Too Faced 🙂

Below is what the palette looks like:

And the swatches:

From the top down:

Spread the Love: A matte peach shade with gold glitter – almost looks orange when swatched, like an orange creamcicle 🙂

Peanut Butter: The inspiration behind this palette from the Semi-Sweet Chocoalte Bar Palette! This is a beautiful, warm matte brown shade, that is perfect in the crease. I used it today and it’s beautifully blendable and creamy!

Peanut Butter Cup: A beautiful bronzey shade, with gold micro glitter. Use this on my lids today and I adore it!

Bananas:  A BEAUTIFUL pale gold shimmer shade, that I cannot wait to put on my lids!! Very pigmented, creamy, buttery!

Peanut Brittle: A warm, coppery shimmer shade. Very similar to the other two warm brown shades in the palette, but with a beautiful shimmer/metallic finish!

Jammin’: This shade is a DEEP matte purple shade with gold microglitter, that almost doesn’t show up as purple. More like a deep plumy brown. Beautiful in the outer ‘V’, and the darkest shade in the palette.

Extra Creamy: A matte, stark white shade, perfect for a brow bone highlight and blending shades together. You really cannot go wrong with a matte white shade 🙂

Jelly: This shade is the only true pop of color in this palette, and is absolutely beautiful when blended out! Its a satin finish, that’s powdery when first swatched, but blending makes this shadow stunning! I cannot wait to wear this on my lower lash line!

Nuts About You: The last shade in the palette, and another warm, matte, nutty brown shade. This is a darker shade than peanut butter, but similar to Peanut Brittle without the shimmer.

Shades in natural light :

Overall, this palette is just stunning. I loved playing with it this morning, and cannot wait to try more looks with it! Although I haven’t had it all of March… it will likely be a March Favorite 🙂

Thanks for reading, and let me know if you have any questions!! ❤️
